{Brothers Make the Best Friends | Rivers Edge Natural Area, Colorado}

Before I am a photographer, I am a mom. I am a mom of 3 wild and crazy boys who I’m pretty sure strive to drive me mad and give me grey hair. They are my little tornadoes, but man I wouldn’t know what to do if my life wasn’t chaos. I embrace. I love it. Just like I love them more than life.

After my oldest was born I pretty much took about 6 months to adjust to being a mom. After that 6 month mark…I was ready for another. My husband on the other hand…not so much. it took him a while, or should I say a few more YEARS to get on board.

Once we found out we were pregnant with our second little, I started to panic a bit because I was worried about the age gap. Our boys were going to be about 4 1/2 years apart. My sister and I are 5 years apart, and we were, um, not exactly friends growing up (Although we are super close now. Love you Syd). I was so worried they wouldn’t have the close relationship I so hoped for them.

Once Range, my middle, was born, that all went out the window. Well, after the initial “I love him but don’t want him to touch me” phase my oldest was on for a day or two.

They have been best friends from the beginning. The age difference honestly has made no difference. And even adding a third a year and a half later, no one skipped a beat. They are all 3 so incredibly close. And while of course they fight like, well, brothers, they are seriously best friends. They love to play together and make each other laugh, and oh how they love to break the rules together. ;)

My biggest wish as a Mom is that my kids would be close and love each other unconditionally. And these 3 little dudes have made my wish come true and my Mama heart so happy.

I can’t wait to continue to watch them grow together. I hope they will forever be the best of friends.
