{A Rainbow After the Storm | Loveland, Colorado}

The amazing thing about what I do is the fact that I get introduced to some pretty great people. This sweet family, for example.

Alyssa reached out to me when her fiance at the time and my husband were both stationed at Fort Bragg. They were getting married and she wanted the day captured. I, of course, agreed to shoot their wedding for them. Actually, it was my first time every photographing a wedding. I was so nervous!

Then I got there ….and we instantly hit it off. They are both outgoing and silly. And watching them interact was pretty amazing. I did not have to do much guiding or directing. The love and excitement between them on this special day was undeniable. This made my job pretty easy.

Fast forward a bit and I photographed their family quite a few more times before we both moved away from the area.

We’ve kept in touch over the years. She actually runs a small shop that I am obsessed with and helps me keep my boys looking super stylish. ;)

She and Zak have wanted another baby and were so excited to become pregnant earlier this year. I was devastated to hear they lost the baby not too long after announcing. My heart broke for them.

After experiencing such a loss, they were thrilled when they found out their were expecting a rainbow baby.

Alyssa and Zak are actually stationed a bit closer to me now. So when Alyssa reached out and asked if I would do their pregnancy announcement photos I was SO BEYOND EXCITED! I was excited they were expecting. I was excited to see them after so long.

Naturally, I said Of Course! They made the 4 hours trip to see me (wow talk about an honor), and we had a blast. We captured the time, let our wild kids play, and caught up on life.

I am so excited for this growing family and I can’t wait to see little miss Thyri as a big sister.

It was so nice and again reiterates why I love what I do. I make not only clients, but lifelong friends through my “job”. And I am getting paid to do something I’m truly passionate about. That’s pretty amazing to be able to say. <3
